Pat Riley never dissuaded from the belief that LeBron James would return to the
Miami Heat in free agency, even when the two met in Las Vegas before James
announced his decision to join the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Pat Riley 從來都沒有動搖過覺得 LeBron James 會以FA的身分歸隊，即便是雙方在 Las
Vegas會面完到 LBJ 公開宣布他重返家鄉克里夫蘭的決定之前，Riley都相信他會回來。
''I went into it with the thought and the notion that he was coming back,"
Riley said, "and I was selling that to players, I believed that firmly, so I
was selling that to players. And that's the only way I went into it. I let him
know that. He never said to me, 'No, don't do that.' ''
Riley:「我當時就是這樣著手進行我的工作而我也真的以為他會回來，而且我也是這樣推銷
給其他球員，真的也沒有懷疑過所以我當時就是這麼找人的。我當時就只有這麼做，我還讓
他知道我用的是這招，他也從來沒有對我說過:"不不不，不要這樣"。」
"I don't think I was misled. But I don't think I was encouraged either. That's
business."
「我不覺得我是被詐騙了，但我也不覺得我有被鼓勵要這樣做感覺。只是純生
意。」
Riley said he did not hear from James during the free agent process.
Riley 還說到在整個那段期間，他完全沒有聽到/收到任何從 James 來的消息
"I sent him a lot of emails and texts," Riley said. "I was communicating a lot
with him. No response."
Riley:「我傳超多email跟簡訊給他，我做了很多想跟他溝通，沒消沒息。」
Riley then turned his focus to making the Heat a contending team.
最後Riley轉身把目標放在把熱火的競爭力維持在爭奪總冠軍的行列中。
"There wasn't anything in that meeting that told me that wasn't going to
happen," Riley said of the anticipated return by James. "I've moved on quickly
from that, 'We are going to build another championship team and that's it.'
Riley談到當時對James回歸的期望 :「在那次會談中，完全沒有任何跡象告訴我說這是不
可能會發生的，後來我馬上就回神想"我們要再打造另一隻總冠軍的球隊，就這樣"。」
"This business, as we find it, is tough. Sometimes you have those tough calls
and sometimes things happen to you that you don't like but you’ve got to move
on.
Riley:「我們知道這就是生意，很現實。有時候你會遇到一些艱難的決定，又有時候會發生
一些你不想要的事，但你必須要能夠看開往前走。」
