not basketball

Memphis Grizzlies veteran forward Andre Iguodala is an accomplished athlete
with 15 years of experience in the NBA, but basketball was not his only
career choice.
灰熊老將前鋒Andre Iguodala在NBA已經15年，是個成功的籃球員，但是籃球一開始並不是
他的唯一選擇。
Per Claire Miller in Fast Company, via NBC Sports Bay Area, the newest
Grizzlies wing desired to become a math teacher before settling on
professional basketball to pay the bills.
根據灣區NBA Sports報導，這位新加入灰熊的老將在開始打NBA前，本來是想要當數學老師
的。
“I come from a small town [Springfield, Illinois], and no one knew who I was,
” Iguodala told Fast Company’s Claire Miller. “I thought I would go to
college and become a math teacher. I remember joking around in practice and
my coach was like, “You know there are NBA scouts here,” and I said, “What
does that have to do with me?” He said, “Well, who do you think they’re
here to see?”
「我來自伊利諾州的小城市Springfield，根本沒人認識我，」Iguodala說。「我那時候想
說我就去念個大學，然後當個數學老師。我記得在練習時我還在搞笑，教練就說，『你知

The Grizzlies acquired Iguodala in the offseason as a salary dump from the
Golden State Warriors. Memphis received a first-round pick alongside “Iggy”
for a G League player in Julian Washburn. The Warriors needed cap space in
order to acquire one-time All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell from the Brooklyn
Nets.
因為勇士要清出薪資空間的緣故，灰熊在今年夏天從勇士隊得到的Iguodala，同時還拿到
了第一輪的選秀籤，然後把發展聯盟球員Julian Washburn交易到勇士。勇士因為要得到全
明星後衛D'Angelo Russell，一定得要清出薪資空間。
Iguodala was a key member of the dynasty Warriors, winning three titles with
the Oakland franchise and making five consecutive tripes to the NBA Finals,
including winning the Finals MVP award in 2015 when Golden State took down
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games.
Iguodala在這幾年的勇士王朝扮演著重要角色，拿下3次冠軍，連續五次打進總冠，在2015
那年勇士以六戰擊敗LBJ率領的騎士隊，他更拿下了FMVP。
It’s unclear if Iguodala will be on the youth Grizzlies roster by the start
of training camp, but the front office reportedly expects the vet to be a
part of the developing team in spite of an enticing choice to send Iggy to a
win-now contender like to Los Angeles Clippers or Lakers.
目前Iguodala在開訓前還會不會在灰熊球員名單尚未確定，但是灰熊制服組據報導希望這
位老將可以在這年輕球隊扮演一定的角色，儘管把Iggy送去快艇湖人這些想要爭冠的隊伍
也是個誘人的選項。
