[外絮] Paul George對Staples Center改名的看法
It was just announced that the famous Staples Center, which has housed some
absolutely historic moments in Downtown LA, will soon have a new name.
Starting Dec. 25, the arena will be called Crypto.com Arena, and Los Angeles
Clippers star Paul George has some reservations about the name change.
最近剛宣布了位於洛杉磯市中心且擁有許多歷史時刻的Staples Center即將會有新名字的
消息。從今年的聖誕節起，這個體育館將會改稱為Crypto.com Arena，洛杉磯快艇球星
Paul George對於此事有一些質疑。
The arena, which will house the Clippers in addition to the Los Angeles
Lakers, Kings, and Sparks, has been named Staples Center since its opening in
1999. The Lakers won five NBA titles at Staples Center. The Kings won two
Stanley Cups. The Sparks won three WNBA championships.
這個做為快艇湖人國王及花火隊主場的體育館自從他1999開幕以來就一直叫Staples
Center這個名字。湖人在此贏下了5座NBA冠軍。國王贏下了2座史丹利杯。花火隊贏了3次
WNBA冠軍。
News of the arena’s new naming rights broke during the Clippers’ home game
against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night, sending media members and
even some fans at Staples Center into a bit of a frenzy.
這個命名新聞在星期二快艇主場面對馬刺的比賽爆發並使媒體以及一些在Staples Center
的球迷陷入一點瘋狂。
After the team’s win over the Spurs, Paul George wasn’t sure about
transitioning to the new arena name.
"It’ll be weird,” Paul George admitted. “I grew up, this being Staples,
and Staples being the place to play and the place to be. It’ll definitely be
weird. It’s just, it’s the same location, but it’s kind of like just
stripping the history here by calling it something else. You know, from there
going forward, it’s I guess the new history to be written. But it’ll be
weird. For sure.”
在快艇贏下對陣馬刺的比賽之後，Paul George對於適應至新主場名不是很確定。
"這會感覺很怪，"Paul George承認。"從我成長時他就叫做Staples，且Staples一直都是
我打球及我待的地方。這一定很怪。他還是同一個地方但被叫其他名字感覺它的歷史被剝
奪了。我猜在這之後會有新的歷史被撰寫，但當然也還是會很怪。"
While the Lakers, Kings, and Sparks should stay at Staples Center for the
foreseeable future, the Clippers are planning their move to Inglewood.
Construction on their new arena, the Intuit Dome, has already begun and is
expected to be open for the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.
"Good thing we won’t be here too long, so, we’ll be at our own place,”
George joked. “So it is what it is, I guess.”
雖然湖人、國王及花火在可視的未來還會待在Staples Center，快艇正在計畫搬家到
Inglewood。快艇新主場Intuit Dome的建設早已開始且預計會在NBA 2024-25開季時開幕
。
"好事是我們不會在這裡待上太久，我們會在我們自己的家。"George開玩笑地說。"那也
只能接受了，我猜。"
Cryptocurrency has grown exponentially over the last few years, but
especially so over the pandemic. George says he and the team he has put
around him have gotten him into cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
加密貨幣最近幾年有指數性的成長，尤其是疫情期間。George說他及他的顧問團隊有進入
加密貨幣及非同質化代幣的投資(NFTs)。
"Yeah I’m into crypto,” George said with a laugh. “I mean it’s something
that’s growing and I’m not the smartest person in the room, but I’ve had
people around me that’s kind of educated me on crypto, NFTs, and just where
it’s going, so it’s no surprise that crypto found a way to get their hands
on an arena just with where it’s all going. So it’s no surprise, but yeah,
i definitely am into crypto and want to see it through.”

While the AEG team is busy changing the name of Staples Center, Paul George
and his teammates are busy winning on the court. The Clippers won their ninth
game of the year and eighth in their last nine games on Tuesday by defeating
the Spurs, 106-92.
George has been playing at an MVP level all season, averaging 27.0 points,
8.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
當AEG團隊正忙著改名時，Paul George及他的隊友們正忙著在場上贏球。快艇在星期二以
106-92擊敗馬刺之後贏下了本季第9場也是過去9場的第8場勝利。
George本季截至為止繳出了MVP級的表現，場均27.0分、8.2籃板、5.1助攻及2.2抄截。
