[外絮] KI：如果在騎士有現在成熟，我們能拿更
籃網後衛Kyrie Irving近日參加了一檔名為《我是運動員（I Am Athlete）》的節目，期間
他談到了自己當初在奪冠後離開克里夫蘭的經歷。
“If I was in the same maturity line and understanding of who I am, and I look b
ack, we definitely, definitely would’ve won more championships, because there w
ould’ve been a better man-to-man understanding about what I’m going through. I
didn’t know how to share my emotions,” Irving said. “I didn’t know how to d
o that. So instead of sharing, I isolated myself.
“如果當時我有現在這樣的成熟，了解自己……回顧過去，我們肯定會贏得更多的冠軍，因
為會有更好的人與人關係，能理解我正在經歷的事情，”
“當時我不知道該如何分享我的情緒。我不知道該怎麼做，因此我沒有去分享，而是孤立了
自己。”
“I just started pouring myself more into the game — I had one of my better sea
sons but I wasn’t connecting with everybody as much during the championship yea
r. So 2017, it was a different year for us. We went against Golden State, we wen
t against a great team. When you’re not a great team and not clicking on all cy
linders and together, you’re easily defeated. You’re defeated before you can g
et to the arena.”
“我只是開始讓自己投入更多到比賽中，我度過了自己最好的賽季之一，但在奪冠的那一年
，我沒有與球隊每個人都建立起那麼多的聯繫。因此，2017年對我們來說是不同的一年。我
們對抗金州勇士，那是一支非常偉大的球隊。而當你不是那麼出色的球隊，而且沒有全力以

In hindsight, he regrets not speaking to LeBron James beforehand.
採訪中KI表示，他很後悔當時沒有事先與LBJ交談。
“We didn’t talk during that time,” Irving admitted. “When I look back on wha
t I was going through at that time, I wish I did, because it would’ve been a go
od understanding of what the future will hold for both of us and we know how muc
h power we both had together. Me and him in the league together running Clevelan
d, and then being able to put a better team together every single year would’ve
definitely been worth it.”
“那段時間我們沒有說話，”KI承認，“當我回顧那段時間的經歷時，我希望我那樣做了，
因為這對我們兩個人未來互相理解有好處，我們都知道我們兩個人在一起有多大威力。我和

He opened up about how, at 24, he sat with Cavs brass and told them he’d prefer
a trade, and intended to speak with James about it but the news got leaked befo
re that conversation took place. To compound matters, he was abroad in China whe
n it did.
KI說當時他24歲，他與騎士老闆溝通並告訴他們自己想被交易，之後他也想與LBJ溝通這件
事。但在兩人談話之前，這則消息就被洩露了出來，而且雪上加霜的是，當事情發生時，KI
還遠在中國參加活動。
“I’m not even on American soil so I can’t even get on to defend myself … and
I didn’t have a sense of how to manage that when all the media’s coming after
me,” Irving said. “It took me six years to even talk about it openly because
I’m comfortable with my decision. Before I was questioning, ‘Yo, did I do this
the right thing? I left one of the best players in the game.’ And I started li
stening to that.
“當時我甚至不在美國，所以我幾乎無法為自己辯護……當所有媒體都在撻伐我的時候，我
真不知道該如何應對，”
“這花了我6年的時間，我現在才公開談論這件事，因為我對自己的決定很滿意。在我懷疑

“That’s where the mental health comes into play, because when you start believ
ing what other people say about you, you become a shell of yourself. … You’re
trying to be perfect for others that don’t really give a f–k about whether or
not you breathe another day. ‘You’re just another motherf—er we can just trol
l or hate on.’ So I had to make the shift. … I started digging deep into Islam
.
“這就是心理健康發揮作用的地方，因為當你開始相信別人對你的看法時，你就會成為自己
的外殼……你其實在為了那些根本不關心你是否還能再多活一天的人活著。他們還會說‘你
不過是另一個我們找樂子或找話題的混蛋’，所以我不得不做出改變……從那時起，我開始
深入研究伊斯蘭教。”
“I went through that span where I was reclaiming my power. I found my tribe, I
reclaimed my identity. I stopped listening to everybody else was saying about wh
at an athlete is supposed to be, the image that we’re supposed to be every day,
why we’re supposed to be doing the things we’re doing. I had to find that pur
pose.”
“我熬過了那段時間，也讓我重新掌控了自己。我找到了我的部落，找回了我自己的特質。
我不再聽其他人談論運動員應該怎樣怎樣，不再去在乎我們每天應該成為什麼樣的形象，為
什麼我們要去做現在做的事情，但我必須找到這個目標。”
