Lakers center Jaxon Hayes is officially a Slovenian citizen.
湖人中鋒Hayes正式成為斯洛維尼亞公民了。
On Monday, after the Lakers team practice ahead of their Game 2 matchup with
the Houston Rockets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, Hayes said he had
received his Slovenian passport, thereby making him eligible to suit up
alongside his teammate, Luka Doncic, for the Slovenia men’s national
basketball team.
昨天在湖人練習完，準備G2打火箭後，Hayes說他剛剛收到斯洛維尼亞的護照，所以這讓
他有資格，可以跟他的隊友Luka Doncic一起打斯洛維尼亞國家隊。他笑著說：
“We got my Slovenian passport,” Hayes said, grinning. “It really came
through. Luka’s been calling me ‘my Slovenian brother.’ He says it all the
time.”
「我剛剛收到我的斯洛維尼亞護照，手續真的辦成了。Luka一直叫我，
『我的斯洛維尼亞兄弟！』
「他一直這樣子叫我。」
The initial conversation about joining the team started back in October
through both Hayes and Doncic’s agent, Bill Duffy of WME Sports.
去年10月開始Hayes跟Doncic各自的經紀人開始討論加入國家隊。
Slovenia, like several international programs, allows one naturalized player
on its roster. So Hayes, a 7-footer from Norman, Oklahoma, fit the bill.
斯洛維尼亞跟其他國際球隊一樣，可以有一名歸化球員。所以，來自奧克拉荷馬Norman
市，7呎的Hayes剛好符合他們的需求。
