Lee Corso retiring from ESPN’s ‘College Gameday’
Longtime ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso is retiring from the network following the first “College Gameday” of the upcoming season this fall.
Corso, a former head coach at Louisville, Indiana, Northern Illinois and the defunct USFL Orlando Renegades, has been a part of the Saturday preview show since it premiered in 1987, eventually becoming known for donning an oversized mascot head to announce his pick of the week’s biggest game.
“My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and ‘College GameDay’ for nearly 40 years,” Corso said in a statement. “I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.”
