At the first day of the Ordina Open Sjeng Schalken played and won his match
against Albert Portas of Spain: 6-2 and 6-2. The champion of 2002 faces in de
the second round Christophe Rochus of Belgium.
Raemon Sluiter signed for another Dutch victory beating Slovakian Karol脷eck
6-3,7-5. Dennis van Scheppingen won his match against Feliciano Lopez 3-6, 6-4
and 6-3. Qualifier Paul Logtens lost温is game versus嘭aradorn Srichaphan 4-6,
6-4 and 4-6.
In濳he ladies tournament 14-year old Michaella Krajicek made her debut at the
WTA Tour, but Ludmilla Cervanova was too strong: 3-6, 1-6.
