That foursome of fourth-round winners has joined top seed Justine Henin-Hardenne and No.5 Lindsay Davenport, who will meet, along with No.4 Amelie Mauresmo and No.32 Fabiola Zuluaga in the last eight at Melbourne Park. Russian Myskina set up a quarter-final re-match with Clijsters with a come-from-behind 6-7 (3-7) 6-2 6-2 win over Chanda Rubin. Myskina overpowered Rubin with some brilliant shot-making from the back of the court, producing 18 forehand and 16 backhand winners. It was the American however who started the better, racing to a 4-0 lead before Myskina was able to get on the board. The Russian recovered to level proceedings at 5-all but made a couple of crucial errors in the tie-break to concede the first set. Going a set down did little to dampen the 22-year-old's approach with Myskina continuing in an attacking vein and opening up a 4-0 advantage of her own in the second set, the two breaks enough to secure the set. Clijsters, who ousted Myskina in their quarter-final meeting at Melbourne Park 12 months ago, didn't have things all her own way as she accounted for Italy's Silvia Farina Elia 6-3 6-3. The Belgian dropped serve once in each set, but was able to break Farina Elia five times for the match and - despite 23 unforced errors - was too consistent overall. Raymond was the first woman through to the last eight when she ended French wildcard Tatiana Golovin's run with a comprehensive 6-2 6-0 victory. Golovin, who celebrated her 16th birthday on Sunday, made far too many errors and failed to come to terms with Raymond's clever slice and good serving. The French teenager served six double faults, committed 22 unforced errors, conceded her serve five times and won only half as many points as Raymond (26 to 54). Raymond will confront Schnyder after the Swiss player eliminated another Frenchwoman, No.29 seed Nathalie Dechy, 6-2 6-4. Schnyder has made it to the fourth-round on four of her previous seven visits to Melbourne Park, but this is the first time she has progressed further. She has never been further than a quarter-final at a Grand Slam, having lost at that stage at both the French and US Opens in 1998. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.32.98.197
