Open-Beaten Clijsters opts for short career

MELBOURNE, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Kim Clijsters plans to have a fairly short tennis career as she wants to start a family with fiance Lleyton Hewitt.
"I don't really plan to have a very long career because one day I wouldn't mind having a family as well," said Clijsters after her 6-3 4-6 6-3 defeat by fellow Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne in the Australian Open final on Saturday.
"It's hard to put a number on it. It also depends how I'm feeling, the way my body is coping... with the tough schedule. See how, you know, if I'm still enjoying it."
Clijsters has been dubbed "Aussie Kim" in Melbourne because of her engagement to Australia's Hewitt.
However, the 20-year-old dismissed the suggestion that she might be tempted to switch passports to represent Australia in the Fed Cup or Olympics.
"I'll never say never but I don't think I'll be playing under the Australian flag," she said.
Clijsters battled an ankle injury to reach her first Australian Open final but came up short again against world number one Henin-Hardenne, who beat her in the French and U.S. Open finals last year.
