BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- Justine Henin-Hardenne and Kim Clijsters are struggling with health problems that threaten the Belgian stars' preparation for the French Open. The top-ranked Henin-Hardenne is weakened by fatigue and already has pulled out of next week's Fed Cup matches. The second-ranked Clijsters has an injured left wrist. Henin-Hardenne was home Friday after withdrawing from the Family Circle Cup in Charleston, S.C., where she won the event last year. ``The first tests could let us believe that she could suffer from mononucleosis, but it is only one of many possibilities,'' said her husband, Pierre-Yves Hardenne. If the blood disorder is confirmed, it could affect her whole summer schedule. Henin-Hardenne won last year's French Open, beating Clijsters in the final. The tournament begins May 24. ``We fear for Roland Garros,'' Hardenne said. ``If it is mononucleosis, we can forget it.'' Clijsters is struggling with a wrist injury that interferes with her two-fisted backhand. Her wrist has been in a brace for a month and the injury has proved more problematic than expected. ``It will be very tough to get her 100 percent ready for Roland Garros,'' coach Marc Dehous said. This season, Henin-Hardenne won the Australian Open and three other tournaments. Clijsters was runner-up to Henin-Hardenne in Melbourne before winning back-to-back tournaments last month. Henin-Hardenne had been feeling weak the past two weeks and already pulled out of the Fed Cup series against Croatia. Her participation in next month's German Open is in doubt. ``I cannot see her defend the title in Berlin,'' her husband said. ``That would be cutting it too close.'' The Fed Cup matches are in Clijsters' hometown of Bree and she is intent on playing. This weekend, she was supposed to play an exhibition against her fiancee, Lleyton Hewitt, but because of her injury it could be reduced to little more than a hitting session. ``She has to be very careful not to endanger the rest of the clay season,'' Dehous said.
