Why all the fuss? 25-10-2004 I didn't feel like reacting to my split with Lleyton. I hoped to find some time for myself in this difficult period. However, if I see the all the stuff that is being published and how I am being followed, then I think I should respond t o all that. First and for all, I would like to thank all the people who have supported me i n these difficult times with warm letters and messages. At the same time, howev er, I am stunned by all the media attention about a strictly private matter. I understand that people want to know about the end of our relationship and tha t is why we have decided to issue the short press statement. Anything else is o ur business, just like any other couple who are splitting up. However, some of the gossip that is appearing just go beyond certain values. What is wrong with journalists if they spend the night camping outside my house ? If they start following me and the rest of my family? If they start insinuati ng things about my mother or Lleyton's? If they think to know that both Lleyton and I already have someone else (which is a big lie anyway)? Splitting up afte r nearly five years isn't easy and painful as it is already, isn't it not norma l we want to come to terms with it ourselves? Why is all these gossip turned into national news? At DHL more than thousand pe ople are about to lose their job. Not that far from here a two people were kill ed in a deadly accident. I firmly believe there are more important issues to wr ite about than just the strictly private ones as ours. I sincerely hope that everybody will show some respect for me and my family and that these gossips will stop. And that everyone is curious to find out about t he wrist and my tennis.
