Kim Clijsters Selected Player of the Month for May

St. Petersburg , Florida – The WTA Tour announced today that Kim Clijsters
has been named Player of the Month for May, as voted on by the International
Tennis Writers’ Association. This is the second time Clijsters has been
selected for the monthly award since the program's inception in January 2001.
She received this honor in November of 2002.
In May, Belgium's Clijsters captured her third title of 2003 at Rome,earning
her second Tier I title of the year. Ranked No. 2 in the world, Clijsters
defeated No. 6 Amelie Mauresmo in the final, 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-0, to clinch her
13th career WTA Tour singles title , becoming the first Belgian man or woman
to win a title at Rome.A week prior to her championship win in Rome,Clijsters
reached the final at Berlin, falling to compatriot Justine Henin-Hardenne,
6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
Kim 今年好猛，所有參加的賽事都闖入四強以上，Henin 也不賴.
