Hungry for a tournament again 24-09-2003
I just arrived in Leipzig by plain, after a flight of about 28 hours. Now I
really want to get going. I have trained a lot in Australia and I feel I got
the right rhythm again. However, let's wait and see what the effects of the
jetlag will be.
I enjoyed my stay in Australia. The Davis Cup against Switzerland was
definitely a climax. The doubles were incredibly exciting, as was Lleyton's
decisive match. He was very happy with the victory for he beat Federer and also
because he had high hopes of this Davis Cup.
Meanwhile I have been training a lot and I feel I got the right rhythm again.
I also already played indoor, so that should be an advantage. I really feel
like playing a tournament again. I am hungry!. However, let's wait and see what
the effects of the jetlag will be.
I am off training in a moment and then I'll be watching Elke's match. She isn't
really lucky with her first round against Maria Vento-Kabchi, a tough one!
We'll talk about it later, I think I can give her some useful inside
information.
I am also finalising my diary for next year. I already have written down
Antwerp. Playing at home and for that audience is always a treat and I will
definitely try to keep Venus from her racket, a challenge! I'll try to engage
some other players for the great atmosphere, the perfect organisation and the
diamonds of course. There will be some who will come...
And now, back to work: training session.
