The Mets announced that they agreed to sign right-hander Carlos Torres to a
minor league contract that includes an invitation to MLB Spring Training.
Torres, a veteran of three MLB seasons, hit free agency earlier in November.
Torres made 31 relief appearances for the Rockies in 2012, posting a 5.26 ERA
with 7.1 K/9 and 4.4 BB/9 in 53 innings. The 30-year-old also appeared in 13
games with the White Sox from 2009-10.
