Pregame chatter: Yankees are facing LHP Scott Kazmir (13-9, 3.54) … Very late report and no BP today for the Yankees. As you can tell, they’ve given up on the idea of winning the division. … Torre said Chien-Ming Wang and Andy Pettitte would be the starters for Games 1 and 2. No order has been set. But Pettitte will start and throw 50-60 pitches on Saturday, so it seems evident that Wang will start Game 1 and Pettitte Game 2. … Roger Clemens will throw a simulated game on Monday and be set up for Game 3. … Joba will pitch today to see how he handles going back-to-back then get in the game on Sunday for an out or two. … Torre on Shelley Duncan last night: “I was afraid he would hurt me.
