He survived a seemingly endless rehab program, and a stream of boos when he finally made it to the Minors. So on the day of his big return, he sure wasn't going to let a bumbling bus driver stand in his way. 小明不畏各種艱難回來了 Mientkiewicz returned to the Yankees on Saturday, one of a quartet of September callups that also included starter Ian Kennedy, reliever Jose Veras and infielder Alberto Gonzalez. Kennedy had been in New York since Thursday, preparing for his Saturday start, but the rest of those Yankees almost didn't make it when their bus driver got lost on the way from Pawtucket, R.I., to the airport in Providence. Scranton Wilkes-Barre clinched its International League division title this week, while Trenton holds the best record in the Eastern League.
