How unique was what Joba Chamberlain did tonight?
The last time the Yankees had a starter age 22 or younger win a game at
Fenway Park was in 1964 when Mel Stottlemyre threw a six-hit shutout.

This awesome quote from Jason Giambi on Joba being a starter:
“I know it was a tough decision for management to move Joba. But once
(Chien-Ming) Wang went down, it became the genius move of the century.”
The genius move of the century? You have to love the Big G.
Meanwhile, I’m not sure Tim Wakefield will be the man to do it. But the Red
Sox will retaliate against the Yankees for Joba going after a Youkilis. It’s
just a matter of time. Joba has more than a little Roger Clemens in him and it
’s guys like that who will bring the rivalry back to a boil.
You know what? Good. The rivalry has been a little tame lately. Enough of
this namby-pamby everybody is friends stuff.
