[新聞] Despite exit, Jeter unlikely to miss time
MINNEAPOLIS -- Yankees captain Derek Jeter suffered a bruised left instep
after fouling a ball off his foot in Tuesday's 9-6 victory over the Twins,
though manager Joe Girardi said he does not expect the All-Star shortstop to
miss any playing time.
Jeter is believed to have suffered the injury batting in the fourth inning
against Minnesota right-hander Nick Blackburn. He was hobbled briefly but
remained in the game, stroking hits in his next three at-bats. Girardi lifted
Jeter for pinch-runner Melky Cabrera in the ninth inning representing the
go-ahead run with Alex Rodriguez batting.
"I think he'll play tomorrow," Girardi said after the game. "I just felt that
if Alex hit a ball in the gap, I wasn't sure that he could score at that
point. He's icing, X-rays are negative and we expect him to play tomorrow.
We'll see."
Jeter, 34, is batting .284 with seven home runs and 57 RBIs in 113 games for
New York this season. Girardi said he was not surprised that Jeter would not
want to miss a start.
"He's always been a tough kid -- I guess maybe he's not a kid anymore,"
Girardi said.
哭哭!雖然你DP很多
但腳傷希望沒有什麼大礙才是!
