[情報] Bruney Blasts K-Rod

Brian Bruney, who has a strained right elbow, pitched one scoreless inning
for Class AA Trenton on Saturday. Bruney told reporters in Trenton that he
would probably be activated by the Yankees on Tuesday. It is unlikely the
Yankees will activate him on Sunday and they do not play on Monday.
As important as Bruney's rehabilitation outing was for a team that needs an
eighth inning reliever, he created other news with his unsolicited criticism
of Francisco Rodriguez.
When Bruney was asked about how Luis Castillo's dropped pop up helped the
Yankees steal a 9-8 victory over the Mets on Friday, he launched into a
diatribe about Rodriguez.
「Couldn't have happened to a better guy on the mound, either,」 said Bruney,
referring to the Mets' closer, as he spoke in Trenton. 「He's got a tired act.
」
Bruney also said that he did not like 「watching the guy pitch」 and called
Rodriguez 「embarrassing.」
Update | 9:43 p.m. When Rodriguez was informed of Bruney's comments, he said
that Bruney should address him face-to-face.
「Don't be sending a message to the media,」 Rodriguez said. 「I don't even
know who that guy is, somewhere in Double-A and not even pitching one full
season. He's always been on the D.L. That's all I really know right now. He'd
better keep his mouth shut and do his job, and not worry about somebody else.
」
Rodriguez treated Bruney's comments like a piece of dirt in his cleat.
「If some guy comes out with that, somebody big like Mariano (Rivera),
somebody who's been around and is good at what he does, I would respect that,
」 Rodriguez said. 「But for some guy that I don't even know who it is, that
hasn't even played a full year in the big leagues, that's always been hurt?
It doesn't bother me.」
Once Bruney returned to Yankee Stadium on Saturday, he reiterated that he did
not like Rodriguez's style as a pitcher.
「I learned to play the game a different way,」 said Bruney, who apparently
dislikes how the animated Rodriguez points to the sky and celebrates after he
notches a save. 「You won't see me do that, acting the way he acts.」
