　　洋基從讓渡名單撿來太空人隊的Russ Ortiz，並和他簽下小聯盟合約，他是個35歲的老人，速球在low-90，變速球很不錯，也會投滑球，是個以變化球速來迷惑打者，再用他很殺的變速球來取得出局數，但問題是有時會找不到控球，因此投了太多的保送。他來的目的是洋基小聯盟的先發實在缺得挺嚴重，連原本用Eric Hacker和海盜換來的RP Romulo Sanchez都轉為先發來用了。或許不用太期望他有什麼驚豔的演出，但現在洋基先發缺得挺嚴重的情況，以他解決打者的經驗來看，這也不算什麼太差的選擇。今年他在太空人隊的成績是: 85.2局，3勝6敗，ERA 5.57，23上場13場先發，Whip: 1.67, BB/9: 5, SO/9: 6.8。其他相關消息： IPK週二在坦帕基地迷你的投手丘上投了25球，狀況很不錯本季有希望回到小聯盟。前洋基左手牛Bill Traber被紅襪隊升上了大聯盟。至於被笑臉人撿走了Jose Veras則被DFA了。　　 Russ Ortiz signed and sent to Triple-A http://community.thetimes-tribune.com/blogs/yankees/ I first heard it from Tyler Kepner, then started getting word from other writers in Toronto. The Yankees have signed Russ Ortiz (right) to a minor league deal and assigned him to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where I have to assume he'll take the open spot in the rotation. Ortiz had ugly numbers with the Astros and was ultimately placed on waivers and then released. Not sure he has a longterm role with the Yankees, but he's a veteran pitcher for a team that is suddenly short on upper-level starters. There might not be much upside, but there's no real downside either. A few other notes. Ian Kennedy is making progress in Tampa. Billy Traber has been called up to Boston.
