[新聞] Igawa excused from Yankees to get in touch with family
The New York Yankees have allowed left-handed pitcher Kei Igawa to leave Spring
Training in order to get in touch with his family and loved ones in the
aftermath of the Japanese earthquakes and tsunamis, Kevin Kernan of the
New York Post reports.
Igawa is from the part of Japan that was hardest hit.
“We told him to take whatever time he needs to make the calls and get in touch
with people, GM Brian Cashman said, adding that Igawa has the Yankees
permission to go back to Japan, “if he wants to, no doubt about it.”
