Feliciano to begin “conservative treatment program”

Pedro Feliciano has been examined by Dr. James Andrews, and the second
opinion seems to be a little better than the first. Here’s the announcement
from the Yankees.
LHP Pedro Feliciano was seen today by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla.
Dr. Andrews recommended a conservative treatment program for the next six
weeks. Feliciano will begin a shoulder strengthening program immediately, and
is expected to remain with the team during the rehabilitation process.
That seems to be an indication that Feliciano might be able to avoid surgery,
or at least that he’s going to try to avoid surgery.
