Mark Teixeira was diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of his left calf and
expects to miss 1-2 weeks.
Derek Jeter missed about three weeks with a Grade 1 strain of his calf last
year, so there's a chance it could be longer than one or two weeks. Rosters
expand on Saturday, so the Yankees could try to play short-handed for now
rather than place Teixeira on the disabled list. Nick Swisher, Eric Chavez,
Casey McGehee and the newly-acquired Steve Pearce could all be options to
fill in at first base.
