Vermont Lake Monsters (Washington Nationals)
THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Lake Monsters went 3-4, making it their most
productive week of the season. They ended a five-game skid and improved their
overall record to 10-22, but remain in the Stedler Division basement.
WHO'S HOT/WHO'S NOT: Justin Maxwell is batting .316 with a home run, eight
runs scored and five RBIs in his last 10 games. ... Michael Martinez has 13
hits in his last 24 at-bats, good for a .542 average over his last seven
contests. Martinez has a home run, eight runs scored and six RBIs in that
stretch. ...Brandon Conway is in a 4-for-31 slump.
HIT THE ROAD, JACK: The Lake Monsters might not be in last place in the
Stedler Division. In fact, they might be a pretty decent baseball team ... if
it weren't for those pesky home games. The Lake Monsters are a NYPL-worst
3-12 while playing at their own Centennial Field, while they boast a rather
respectable 8-10 road record.
