Johnson names first three ST starters

VIERA, Fla. -- Manager Davey Johnson announced Friday that Edwin Jackson
will pitch the Spring Training opener against the Astros in Kissimmee, Fla.,
on March 3, while left-hander John Lannan will take the mound against the
Mets in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on March 5.
Right-hander Jordan Zimmermann will get the nod against the Cardinals
at Space Coast Stadium on March 7, while Chien-Ming Wang will pitch
a simulated game the same day that Lannan throws.
Johnson said he will announce the rest of the rotation Saturday.
As far as Friday's game against Georgetown goes, Johnson will not use his
regular starting pitchers. It would not come as a surprise if left-hander
Matt Purke made the start. Johnson said he will not make the announcement
until Saturday.
