The Hornets trailed at halftime 31-39, but went on to outscore the Nets in the third (30-13) and fourth (23-15) quarters. New Jersey shot 48 percent (14-29 FG) in the first half. J.R. Smith led the Hornets with 16 points (6-13 FG), while Lampe had 15 points (6-10 FG) and five rebounds. David West chipped in 14 points (5-7 FG) and seven rebounds in the win. Rookie Chris Paul struggled from the floor (0-8 FG), but was very active on the floor collecting seven rebounds and four assists. New Orleans shot 44 percent (28-64 FG) for the game and out scored the Nets 42-28 in the paint. Rookie Antoine Wright continued his nice shooting touch as he collected 22 points (8-17 FG).
