But Jason Kidd really was just that when, as a 13-year-old, he caught Brown's attention when he attended the coach's basketball camp at Kansas. "I've known Jason forever," Brown said yesterday. "He's all the things that you want in a guard. The way he shares the basketball, runs the break. The following year, however, Kidd removed himself from the Olympic team because of a knee injury, while Carter took the summer off to get married.
