Stefanski: Carter Not Likely to Opt Out of Contract
Ed Stefanski in an interview with WFAN gave the clearest indication yet that
talks between the Nets and Vince Carter are going well. "We feel
comfortable", Stefanski said when asked if the team was going to extend
Carter. "We don't expect Vince to opt out." Stefanski added, "Right now, we
like our nucleas and were gonna to give it another shot". As for a Kevin
Garnett trade, Stefanski was not optimistic: "I don't see what we could do"
but said the team would "make the call"
