At his height with his athleticism and shooting tough, he should be much better than he is. That being said, he should be a backup for now so the Nets can pick and choose some matchups to exploit with him. Draft Derrick Favors and then let's see what Yi can do when some tweaner has to chase him around the court. Alex Raskin: I'm all for saving money. The goal is to be peaking as the team moves to the Barclays center. If you tie yourself to the wrong deal now, who knows what might happen. I'm always reminded of the 1999 Cincinnati Reds. They were a decent team on the rise when they added Ken Griffey Jr. before the 2000 season. As it turned out, his body imploded and the team is only now pulling itself out of that decade-long rut. Williams also can play the point on offense which allows Devin Harris to be more of a scorer. Would the Nets prefer Favors or Turner? If they get Turner, then who do they get to beef up their two forward spots? Alex Raskin: Turner is obviously a great player, but i question whether he is the sure choice over Favors. There is no question that the OSU guy had a better season, but he's not the athlete that Favors is and his shooting is underwhelming. Turner's assets are passing and his ability to get into the lane.
