Newcastle defender Andy O'Brien is the latest withdrawal from the Republic
of Ireland squad for Tuesday's friendly against Croatia in Dublin.
O'Brien has a hamstring injury and joins his club-mate Stephen Carr plus
Andy Reid and Matt Holland as absentees from Brian Kerr's squad.
Kerr has confirmed that Richard Dunne, Steve Finnan and Liam Miller will
definitely start for the Irish.
Sunderland's Stephen Elliott is also likely to get his first cap.
In addition to the withdrawals, there is also a doubt over Manchester City
striker Jon Macken who will have a late fitness test on a back injury.
Kerr has not called up any replacements despite the withdrawals.
Midfielders Reid and Holland both picked up ankle injuries while playing
for their clubs over the weekend while full-back Carr has a knee problem.
Roy Keane has been rested from the Republic squad for Tuesday's game.
The Republic boss jets out from Dublin immediately after the game to take
in Wednesday's Group Four World Cup qualifier between Cyprus and Israel in
Nicosia.
The Irish are currently joint top of the Group Four table after home wins
against Cyprus and the Faroe Islands and draws away to Switzerland and
France.
