Shearer return could be delayed

Newcastle captain Alan Shearer has had another scan on his thigh injury
as he battles to be fit to face former club Blackburn on 26 December.
Shearer has missed the last five games for Newcastle, who have not won
in the Premiership in his absence.
The 34-year-old had hoped to return against Blackburn but admits he may
now be out for longer.
"I have had another scan and I am just waiting for the result," he said.
"I do not know when I will be back."
However, Craig Bellamy is hopeful that he will have recovered from a back
injury in time to line up against Blackburn.
The striker was ruled out of the game against Liverpool at the last minute
when the problem flared up.
