雖然從 Deportivo la Coruna 轉會過來以後 Luque 一直踢不出西甲時的優異表現但他仍相信在缺少 Owen, Ameobi 下, 他可以為球隊付出更多他接受 The Evening Chronicle 訪問時說： "I want to be a success here but I need to play games. "I can play here and do a job for this club but I need matches. I want to play and do well for the fans. "If I can get a run of five or six games then I promise I will do well here." "Life for me at Newcastle is very different to what it was at Deportivo. (那也是真的, Spain的陽光與海灘跟Newcastle的濕冷天氣就是一個大差別) 另外 Luque 也說出除了生活上, 還有在新堡中的位置的改變 "I played out wide on the left for Depor - a position in which I have done well in the past."
