Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has revealed his guilt at missing
virtually the whole of the season through injury.
The England international has only just returned to action for The Magpies
after seriously injuring his knee in last summer's World Cup.
Owen knew within an hour that Newcastle would suffer the most and felt
guilty for everyone at the club, along with his sponsors.
However, Owen returned to action in Newcastle's 1-0 defeat at Reading on
Monday and has backed his decision to have the operation.
"Within an hour of injuring my cruciate in Germany my first feeling was one
of guilt," he is quoted in the Sun.
"I felt guilty for Newcastle, the fans, the chairman, down to the people who
sponsor my boots and invest so much in me.
"Then, when I went to America for my operation, I felt a bit uneasy when I
was told the surgeon might be using someone else's tissue to go into my knee.
"I'm one of those people who feels sorry for others before they think of
themselves. But you learn to live with it. I know that the operation was
definitely the right thing to do."
歐文表示，當他受傷時候他對於Newcastle、球迷以及主席都有感到罪惡感。
因為所有人都是那麼的支持他。
