http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/7094837.stm Last Updated: Wednesday, 14 November 2007, 15:07 GMT Carr opts to end Republic career 　　Republic of Ireland defender Stephen Carr has announced his retirement from international football. 　　The 31-year-old Newcastle United player won 44 caps, the first coming in 1999 and the last in a 4-0 friendly win over Denmark in August. 　　Carr said that, after failing to qualify for Euro 2008, it was time to rebuild the Republic squad. 自1999年入選愛爾蘭國家隊並出場44次的右後衛 Carr 宣佈退出並不再參加國家隊賽事。他認為國家隊無法取得08歐洲國家盃入場券後，是時候進行重建。　　"There are good young players coming out of Ireland.
