2. Newcastle chairman Chris Mort has promised the club are ready to do all
they can to get Michael Owen to sign a new deal.

"He's a fabulous player and he showed that again.

3. Amorebieta: Not interested in move

A number of English clubs, including Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester
United and Chelsea, have been linked with the highly-rated centre-back
since the start of the season.
"I have heard rumours since last summer but nobody has formally
contacted my club.
"Bilbao decide my future and that has not changed."
Amorebieta is contracted to Bilbao until 2011 and is valued in the
region of 20million euros.
4. Newcastle and West Ham are eyeing Toulouse midfielder Achille Emana.

Emana is believed to be considering his future at Toulouse and is keen
on a move away to a bigger club.
Toulouse are unlikely to be able to resist any big-money offers for
Emana and their valuation of €8million would be no problem for either
Newcastle or West Ham.
