Liverpool have agreed a fee with Newcastle for the transfer of Danny
Guthrie, according to the Reds website.
The 21-year-old former academy player, who spent last season on loan at
Bolton, is now set to travel to St James' Park to discuss personal terms.
"We have agreed a transfer fee with Newcastle," a Liverpool spokesman told
the club website.
The central midfielder was a hit at Bolton and scored on his debut against
Fulham in the Carling Cup.
Last month, Guthrie, who also spent half a season on loan at Southampton,
was reported to be part of an exchange deal which would see midfielder
James Milner head to Anfield.
The former Manchester United trainee will become Magpies boss Kevin Keegan's
second signing of the summer, following the arrival of winger Jonas Gutierrez
from Real Mallorca.
