Wise 及 Liambles 隻手遮天
導致 Keegan 出走，Milner 突如其來的被賣掉
夏轉結束前一刻簽回來的球員通通沒有用
還有一眾合同即將屆滿的主力如隊長等，仍然沒獲得新約
加上老闆把球隊掛牌出售以後就一直擺爛
作為頂級聯賽的球隊，要亂的要難看的都全看到了
如願把 Milner 收歸其下的 O'Neill 說道
"I was delighted to get him but, had things been right at Newcastle at the
time, James may well have stayed there."
而合同將屆滿的包括 Harper, Amoebi, Viduka, Butt, Owen
為首的 Owen 就說明了一切
"We had a few meetings earlier on in the season and things were going fine,"
"Then the manager left as did someone on the board who we were negotiating
with - talks haven't picked up since."
"They haven't got round to talking with the players. There has been a lot of
turmoil at the club and I suppose they have been shuffled to the back of the
queue."
"We needed someone to steady the ship - there has been so much surrounding the
club this season, as well as other seasons, it seems to attract unwanted
publicity."
而 Kinnear 對於冬轉前還不能和 Owen 成功續約表示焦慮
"I'm pretty confident about everybody else, but Michael is a different kettle
of fish."
坦白說，我對於冬轉前留否能住隊長已經不抱期望
唯有期望冬轉市場可以把一些該補的位置就補回來
然後快點完成保級，把新人都拿上來練就已經很了不起了
