被皮爾斯選入小三獅 U-21 的 Sammy Ameobi（19），上週四以替補身分臨危上陣，精采地完成了在英格蘭國家隊體系的首秀。賽後 Sammy 興奮地說： "It was amazing to make my international debut, It hasn't really sunk in yet. It's been an amazing few months for me. I've been given the opportunity to play for Newcastle, and I've now had the opportunity to play for England Under 21s. In the last ten minutes my legs began to feel a bit heavy, but we put in a very strong performance and it was great to get the win." 「我覺得自己的表現還不錯啦！最後十分鐘腿有點重重的，不過我們踢得很棒，　能拿下勝利實在是太好了。」 "It was a hard debut, but I thought I fitted in quite well and was pleased with it. Stuart Pearce said afterwards that he was delighted with my performance and that I played really well.
