[Melo] WADE SUPPORTS ANTHONY
Wade became very friendly with Anthony during the Olympics. He feels for
Anthony that his name has been linked recently to several negative incidents.
Since the Olympics, Anthony has been shown in a bootleg video hanging out with
alleged drug dealers in his hometown of Baltimore, has been involved in an
embarrassing New York nightclub incident and was charged with carrying a small
amount of marijuana. That charge eventually was dropped.
"Every time I see his name in the paper about something negative, I’m like,
Man,’’’ Wade said. "Carmelo is a good person. He’s a great basketball
player. Right now, he’ not able to concentrate on what he does best —
basketball — because there’s so much stuff of the court.
"He’s a strong-minded kid who comes from a strong place in Baltimore, so I
understand. I know he’ll get over it. I just bad that he can’t concentrate
on a great second year.’’
