PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS
Blazers interim head coach Kevin Pritchard will go back up to the front office
now that the season is over. Owner Paul Allen wants to throw some money at a
higher-profile head coach like Jackson or Saunders. The question is whether
he'll throw out the front office while he's at it. GM John Nash hasn't solved
any of the Blazers' problems. The team continues to make dumb financial moves,
was unable to turn three good trade assets into a trade before the deadline and
, for the most part, hasn't won back many fans. If Nash doesn't come back,
will Allen just hand the job over to the inexperienced Pritchard (who had
several clashes with players during his short stint as coach) or will he try
to pry Vandeweghe away from Denver? Vandeweghe has proven that he can change
the culture of an organization. It would be interesting to see if he could do
the same thing in Portland.
