The Nuggets coach is expected to have his left hip replacement operation in 11/2 to two weeks
,and he should know more in the next few days about an exact date. He said the operation might not keep him from the Finals
,if his son, Coby, were to make it there with the Los Angeles Lakers.
"We've talked about it," Karl said of the possibility of seeing his son deep in the postseason.
"I don't know what the travel restrictions would be, but I'd think you could walk with a walker or a cane."
The Finals will start June 3 or June 5. Karl expects it will be about six weeks after the surgery before he can fully walk on his own.
