Brian Roberts will have all winter to rest, but he got an extra day off on
Saturday. The second baseman had started all but three games since he returned
from the disabled list in late May, and he'd played in every game but one since
the beginning of June. Still, with his season winding down, the Orioles elected
to sit him.

"I talked to him last night after the game," said Baltimore manager Sam
Perlozzo. "He's just frustrated because he's not doing a little better right
now, and that's understandable. He wanted to finish up strong. He said, 'When I
don't swing the bat well, I'm making outs. And when I do, I'm hitting it right
at somebody.'
"It's just a little frustrating for him, and he wants to help the team."
