1. Matt Wieters, C, 23, Orioles│.305 avg., 5 HRs, 30 RBIs*
A week into his major league career, he's facing a new and tougher challenge.
2. Chris Tillman, SP, 21, Triple-A Norfolk│5-1, 1.88 ERA
The Orioles are smart to be patient, but he's making it difficult to keep
him in minors.
3. Brian Matusz, SP, 22, Single-A Frederick│4-2, 2.37
Given up one earned run or fewer in four of five starts and
thrown 2 straight 7-inning shutouts.
4. Jake Arrieta, SP, 23, Double-A Bowie│5-3, 2.94
Fanned 33 batters in past 25 2/3 innings and is making solid case
for 2nd-half promotion.
5. Nolan Reimold, OF, 25, Orioles│.394, 9 HRs, 27 RBIs*
Torrid start earned him big league shot, and he has certainly
proved he belongs.
6. Brandon Erbe, SP, 21, Double-A Bowie│1-3, 0.90
Baltimore native was dominating until shoulder fatigue landed him
on disabled list.
7. Billy Rowell, OF, 20, Single-A Frederick│.259, 7 HRs, 24 RBIs
First-round pick from 2006 has changed positions and is starting to
find his power.
8. Troy Patton, SP, 23, Double-A Bowie│6-2, 1.85 ERA
As his numbers indicate, he's getting arm strength back after shoulder
surgery last year.
9. Brandon Snyder, 1B, 22, Double-A Bowie│.342, 9 HRs, 38 RBIs
Still questions about his defense, but little doubt his bat will earn
him big league shot.
10. Kam Mickolio, RP, 24, Triple-A Norfolk│2-3, 4.71 ERA
After slow start, he has given up just two earned runs and struck out
18 in past 12 2/3 innings.
