[閒聊] Mora says bad start by O's not Trembley's fault
BOSTON--Wait around long enough and anything can happen in baseball.
Case in point: Melvin Mora, now of the Colorado Rockies, thinks the Orioles'
horrendous start is not the fault of manager Dave Trembley, a man Mora didn't
exactly mesh with in Baltimore.

"In the bottom of my heart, I don't think this losing has [anything] to do with
Trembley," Mora said in a phone conversation with The Baltimore Sun on Sunday.
"But somebody needs to get fired or somebody needs to start winning.And if
somebody needs to go, who is going to go?You aren't going to change 25 players.
But, for me … I don't like people to get fired, anyone."

This losing stretch, he said, should be on the players and the front office,and
not Trembley, whom Mora blasted last season for "disrespecting" him.

"If Nick Markakis and [Adam] Jones and those guys aren't hitting,what does the
manager have to do with it?" Mora said. "They go into the offseason and sign a
closer and he has [two] blown saves before May,what does the manager have to do
with it? They bring in three free agents and if they don't work, what does the
manager have to do with it?"
都是因為某些明星球員在擺爛，教練很無辜
Mora, who played for the Orioles for 10 seasons,is a utility infielder with the
Rockies. He has batted just 25 times this year and is hitting .280 with three
RBIs.

"I'm happy here.I am happy I don't have to deal with a 2-16 start because those
fans are going to be yelling [at the Orioles' players] and they are right,"Mora
said. "Because they are desperate to win."

Regardless,Mora said he doesn't think Trembley should be the target of fans'
ire.

"Maybe Trembley will say tomorrow,What? Melvin Mora is defending me?' Yeah,"
Mora said. "I give Trembley credit.It's a tough situation and he has to battle."
