Orioles first baseman Nick Johnson will not return this season

Orioles first baseman Nick Johnson will not return this season, according to
the Baltimore Sun's Dan Connolly.
Johnson has been out since late June after fouling a ball off his wrist.
Johnson was initially expected to recovery this season, but has had trouble
coming back from the injury. Throughout his career, Johnson has had a lengthy
injury history.
Before the injury, the 33-year old Johnson was hitting just .207/.324/.291
for the Orioles. When Johnson was slow to return earlier in the year, the
team traded for Jim Thome as a possible replacement. While Thome is currently
on the disabled list, he's said to be ahead of his rehab, and could return in
September.
