Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard will play in his first NBA All-Star Game on
Feb. 18 in Las Vegas, named Thursday night as one of seven reserves to the East
ern Conference team.

Though he has struggled some of late, Howard , 21, is having his best season si
nce he was drafted by the Magic with the first overall pick in the 2004 NBA dra
ft. He is the third-leading rebounder in the NBA, averaging 12.1 boards per gam
e, and he leads the Magic in scoring at 16.8 points per game and in blocks at
1.85 per game.
