Orlando a Possible Destination for David Lee?

奧蘭多將會是 David Lee 生涯的下一站嗎?
The draft lottery went down and, for the second consecutive year, the Warriors
weren’t focused on ping-pong balls. However, they might have gotten a break
with how the draft lottery turned out. Maybe.
選秀結果在今天也塵埃落定了，同時對勇士而言也連續兩年，沒有把重心放在小乒乓球上，
但是在今天結果出爐後，他們也可以鬆一口氣了，或許吧。
The Warriors have tried to move David Lee in the past. But it needed to be a
no-brainer in order for them to pull the trigger. But now, per a couple league
sources, the Warriors have lowered the bar realizing they’ve got to come off
that contract so they can go after a co-star for Stephen Curry. Plus, with
Steve Kerr acknowledging he wants a stretch-four, which Lee is not, the writing
is really on the wall for Lee.

I’ve been told to watch out for Orlando as a potential trade partner for
Golden State. They have cap space and after a second consecutive year finishing
way down in the Eastern Conference standings, they need to make a move. They
might be a taker for David Lee for the same reasons the Warriors were back in
2010: they need someone who can produce reliably and usher the franchise into
respectability.
Marcus Thompson(本篇記者)表示：「有人跟我說奧蘭多將會是金州談交易案潛在的交易對

That’s out of the range of the no-brainers: Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and
Joel Embid. If those are the top 3, as projected by the renown DraftEXpress,
that leaves Orlando probably in play for a guard. Oklahoma State point guard
Marcus Smart will be on the board. So will Australian prodigy Dante Exum. Of
course, Kentucky’s Julius Randle, Arizona’s Aaron Gordon and Indiana’s Noah
Vonieh are on the board. But if the Magic go with a perimeter player, that
could be good for the Warriors for two reasons.
第四順位就不是個可以避著眼睛亂選就好的位置了：因為 Andrew Wiggins、Jabari Parker
和 Joel Embid 如果上述這些人，根據知名的 DraftEXpree的預測都會在前三選完就不見的
話，那奧蘭多可能會選個後衛。來自奧克拉荷馬州的控球後衛 Marcus Smart 就在口袋名單
中、還有來自澳洲的天才球員 Dante Exum 也是、當然也不能忘了來自肯塔基的 Julius
Randle、亞利桑那的 Aaron Gordon、印第安那的 Noah Vonieh 都是很好的人選。但如果最
終魔術選的不是內線型球員的話，那對勇士來說就有兩個很好的理由。
1. Orlando will still have a need for a proven veteran in David Lee who knows
what it takes to change the culture of a locker room and make a team
competitive.

2. Aaron Afflalo could be expendable. Drafting a guard will give the Magic its

As for Lee to Orlando, Glen Davis started 43 games for the Magic before being
bought out and signing with the Clippers, where he became the eighth man. And
when he left, Tobias Harris got several starts at PF. That’s how much the
Magic could use Lee. He and Nikola Vucevic wouldn’t be a great defensive pair.
But a perimeter trio of Smart/Oladipo/Moe Harkless should be able to do some
things on the defensive end.
對奧蘭多而言，Glen Davis 去年在被交易到快艇當第8人之前，為魔術先發了43場比賽，
在大寶貝離開後，Tobias Harris 有時也客串了先發大前鋒的位置，所以魔術找來 Lee 也
算派得上用場，雖然 David Lee + Nikola Vucevic 不會是一對在防守端很好的組合，但是
外圍如果是 Smart + Oladipo + Moe Harkless的話應該可以彌補防守上的問題。
Lee could in essence be a one-year rental for the Magic. After next season, he
becomes a chunky expiring contract Orlando could use. At most, two years of
that $15M+ salary is probably something Orlando would swallow if it means it
can book 18 and 10 every night.
Lee 對魔術在實質上的意義可能可以當作「租用一年」的方法來用，再過了一季之後，
他的到期合約對魔術而言也很好操作。最壞情況也不過就是2年都要付超過15M給他，然後
換來每個晚上 18pts + 10rebs的表現。
Afflalo factors in if the Warriors have to move Klay Thompson. If Minnesota
doesn’t want Lee and the Warriors have to put together a package centered on
Thompson (say Thompson, Barnes and Speights), the Warriors could be fine with
that if they can send Lee to Orlando and come away with Afflalo to replace
Thompson. If Love goes elsewhere, which is likely, the Warriors could package
Lee and Thompson to get someone like Carmelo Anthony, then try to pull off a
separate deal to get Afflalo. He plays both ends and he can shoot the 3. Plus,
Love and GM Bob Myers would welcome another Bruin to the mix.
Afflalo 這支要不要出就看勇士那邊是不是會動到 Klay Thompson 了。如果明尼蘇達不要
拿 Lee 反而要勇士一定要出到 Klay Thompson 當作主菜來談的話(假設是 Thompson 、
Barnes 和 Speights)，勇士也可以把 Lee 送到魔術換 Afflalo 去頂替 Thompson 的缺，
如果 Love 最後不是去金州，目前看來好像也是這樣，那麼勇士可以把弄一包 David Lee +
Klay Thompson 去換像是 Carmelo Anthony，然後再試試看其他方案去換 Afflalo。他攻守
兩端都行又可以投3分，而且 Love 跟勇士GM Bob Myers 一定會歡迎另一個家鄉球員回到
加州。
Moving Lee’s contract is a tough one. But a few teams may be willing to try
him out for one year because he can still play and Lee has proven he can help
lift a bad team.
要處理掉 Lee 的合約不是件容易的事。但還有一些球隊或許會願意在他身上試個一年，
因為他還可以打而且 Lee 也證明過他可以幫助實力較弱的球隊變好。
Of course, it’s early and the mock will shift like crazy between now and draft
day. By the end of it, Orlando could end up with Parker or Randle and have its
power forward of the future. The Magic could grab a PF at No. 12 but still
could want Lee for the interim while Gordon or whoever develops.
當然一切都還言之尚早，而且模擬選秀的預測從現在開始，到選秀會當天一定會不斷改變，
最後奧蘭多搞不好會選到 Parker 或是 Randle 把未來的大前鋒定下來。 魔術也可以在第
12順位時抓一隻大前鋒，但還是有可能會想要 Lee 頂上 Aaron Gordon 或是其他人還在成
長的過渡期。
