PLAY OF THE GAME: Three actually. Hornets guard Steve Smith came off the bench with 7:07 to go in the first quarter and hit a 3-pointer from the right corner the first time he touched the ball with 6:16 to go. He hit another next trip down from the left corner, then a third with 5:01 to go in the period that tied the score at 15. GOOD DECISION: Putting Smith into the game in the first quarter when the Hornets were trailing by 10 points, taking out George Lynch, who had missed back-to-back attempts. BAD DECISION: Keeping Lynch out of the game, which allowed Butler to flourish offensively. In fairness, however, without Smith's offense, the Hornets would not have gotten back into the game, and Butler was already having a hot night. KEY STATISTIC: Turnovers once again haunted the Hornets. New Orleans committed 21, and Miami converted those into 17 points. The Hornets could only get eight points off eight Heat turnovers.
