Davis out another week
Hornets coach says next four games 'are a no' for guard

Hornets guard Baron Davis' bruised right ankle will keep him
sidelined for another week despite results from an MRI test
performed Tuesday that revealed no further damage.
"He said he can't jump off it yet, and I would say the next
four games are a no," Coach Byron Scott said.
Scott is not expecting Davis to return until possibly Feb. 2
against the Dallas Mavericks at New Orleans Arena. Davis has
been sidelined for five consecutive games after getting kicked
in his right ankle Jan. 16 against the Toronto Raptors.
"I thought by the Indiana (Jan. 19) or the Clippers game
(Jan. 22) he would be back," Scott said. "So it's a lot longer
than I thought. He said his treatments are going well and he
feels better, but it's going to take about a week."
Dan Dickau has done a good job filling in for Davis.
Dickau has scored 13 or more points in 16 of the past 29
games. Scott also plans to give Casey Jacobsen, acquired
last week in a trade with the Phoenix Suns, some playing
time as the backup point guard.
"I think Casey proved in Miami (Sunday) that he can definitely
be a backup point guard with no problem," Scott said. "He's
smart enough and can handle the ball well enough."
DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE: Former Hornets guard David Wesley said
it felt awkward to be in the visitors' locker room Wednesday
night.
Wesley returned to New Orleans Arena for the first time since
he was traded to the Houston Rockets last month.
"I had to watch where I wasn't supposed to be," Wesley said.
"But I went into the Hornets' locker room in the morning
(before the Rockets' shoot-around) and got a doughnut."
NO GRUDGE: Forward Bostjan Nachbar played against his former
Rockets teammates for the first time since his trade to New
Orleans on Dec. 27.
Nachbar and Rockets center Yao Ming are good friends, and
Nachbar said he hasn't forgotten about a $60 bet he still
owes Ming.
"We were playing a shooting game almost every day in practice
against the guards and bigs (centers and forwards) and he won
more than the guards did, so I owe him money and I will take
care of it," Nachbar said, grinning. (XD)
Nachbar said he watches the Rockets play on television and
calls to congratulate former teammates who have sensational
games.
"I had a great time in Houston," said Nachbar, who went
scoreless after playing nine minutes Wednesday. "I'm still
friends with a lot of those guys. But we realize once we
step out on the court, it's going to be a war."
BLOCK MAN: Backup center Chris Andersen extended his streak
of blocking at least one shot to 13 games.
He kept the streak going during the third quarter when he
blocked a driving shot in the post by Yao. Andersen leads
the Hornets with 50 blocks.
TURNAROUND: On Sunday, P.J. Brown missed nine of 10 shots and
was held to two points in 29 minutes against the Miami Heat.
He made sure not to have a repeat against the Rockets. Brown
made six of his first 10 shots and had 15 points after three
quarters. He finished with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting.
QUICK SHOTS: The Hornets played their 100th game at New Orleans
Arena since their move from Charlotte, N.C., at the end of the
2001-02 season. They are 59-41 at the Arena. . . . The Hornets
reached the midway point of the season after Wednesday's game.
They have 41 games left in the regular season.
