Center getting broken finger re-examined

LOS ANGELES -- Hornets starting center Jamaal Magloire could
be sidelined up to a month after fracturing his right ring
finger in Friday's game against the Phoenix Suns.

Magloire took a flight to New Orleans midday Saturday from
Los Angeles to have the team's medical staff re-examine his
finger and determine if surgery will be needed.

"After talking to my trainer (Terry Kofler), we're looking at
him possibly missing up to three to four weeks," Hornets coach
Byron Scott said after Saturday's practice at the Staples

it done as soon as possible."

It was another blow for the Hornets, off to one of the worst
starts in franchise history at 1-10. Magloire was injured in
the final minute of the game when he deflected a pass.

Magloire played in his first NBA All-Star game last season,
and this season is the team's second-leading scorer (14.1)
and top rebounder (9.1).

Tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers, Scott will start
forward P.J. Brown at Magloire's spot, and David West will
start at power forward.

"Jamaal told me to hold it down until he gets back, so I'm
going to try my best to do that," Brown said.

his lower back.

said no time has been set for Davis' return.

"It's wait-and-see right now," Scott said.

and that's my biggest concern."
